Blogging and My Praxis

Hopefully, my becoming a blogger (if that’s the correct term) will become a part of my praxis, (which is just about how i function as an artist and a human being). For me praxis is the crux of how one operates in all aspects of life and all aspects of life continually inform my praxis. As such it is interdisciplinary and circular in nature.

Praxis relies on judgment and engagement. It is the reflective and dynamic function of taking what i know and shifting it into some form of action. This action informs my base of knowledge and completes the circle in that it enables me to reflect on a new base of knowledge and shift this towards new action.

The full quality of praxis is also about being able to freely engage in life in an ethical and political manner; to commit to human well-being and the search for truth, and respect for others. It is the action of someone who is free and able to act. And most importantly, it does not have to be grandiose.

SO…my hope is that this blog will continuously shift. I’m looking forward to learning from everyone.
